‘You Rock’ Card

Want to make this super-cute but rockin’ card- mine was for a birthday but it could be for just about any occassion.
First round the corners of your card base with your corner rounder- cut a piece of black cardstock a half inch smaller than your card size and round the corners of that piece as well. Adhere the black CS to the card base. For my accents I used leftovers (from the great scrap pile I have) of my Notebook Paper Pack and stickease. The Blue dotted accent piece was part of a border stickease that I cut to size. The Rock On accent is actually colonial white ribbon that I stamped using hollyhock ink and one of the phrases from the You Rock stamp set. The center accent is a piece of Notebook paper cut out and matted on a piece of hollyhock CS- I then stamped my phrase onto that accent.
The final piece was the flying heart (and personally this is my favourite part of the card!!). To create this I embossed the image on colonial white CS with black embossing powder- this allows the image to really POP. Then I used my blending pen and some ink from the lid of my hollyhock stamp pad to shade in the heart. After that I cut the image out using my micro-tip scissors.
