September/October Canadian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Canadian Blog hop. If you have arrived from Brandi’s blog then you are on the right path. Read on and at the bottom, there will be a link for your next stop- and don’t forget to leave some love in the form of a comment.

Well, another school year has begun and with that comes first-day photos!! Since I also work in a school and have to leave on the first day WAY before my kids we usually only get second-day photos (but we can pretend right?!).

I used our new line, Smarty Pants, to make the school pictures pop. Cardstock, paper pack, stickers and Picture my Life cards are all part of this page. I also added some of our FANTASTIC new acrylic letters- this will be a favourite for titles this year.

My daughter’s page uses more from the Smarty Pants line. For a different twist I added some of the Gloss Spray in Ocean. She saw this page and loved that the letters in the title matched the letters on her shirt- a fun coincidence.

Now hop on over to see what Michelle has on her blog– I cannot wait to see it!

Canadian Blog Hop- March/April Inspiration!!

Welcome all to the Canadian Blog Hop full of inspiration from our March/April catalogue. If you have come from Joanne’s blog then you are on the correct pathway.

I am just LOVING our new line of product but I also wanted to share with you some inspiration using our fantastic cardstock because it is on SALE this month!!!

Our cardstock has some pretty special features:

It has a white core (so great for fun techniques like sanding or distressing).

It features TWO colours!! One side of the cardstock is the true colour and the other side is a lighter shade of that colour- so you really get two colours in one piece.

It is the perfect weight for scrapbooking and cardmaking.

My layout below features Candy Apple, Lagoon, Avocado, Glacier, Lemonade and White Daisy Cardstock and I make use of both sides to add variation to my colours. I also mix in just a little of our new paper suite “Eat, Play, Love” and the fun accessories that accompany this paper- the wooden shapes (I mean they are SOOOOO adorable) and the stickers. I finished the page with a splatter of lemonade shimmer and some simple black stickle accents. It all worked perfectly for my page all about homemade pizza.

Did you notice what I did with my journaling?

I mixed in some of the stickers from this paper suite and worked them into my story- what a fun way to accent your page and offer something just a little different!

Now hop on over to Sabrina’s blog to see what she has created to share.

Single Page Saturday- Using up your scraps!

Sunshine and good times single page

I have written before about why I love single pages. It takes a bit to get over the fact that the left side and the right side in my album will not match, BUT it means getting to scrapbook some pretty special memories that would not have enough photos for a double spread.

The great part of today’s single page saturday is that it allowed me to use up some of the scraps of patterned paper left over from my Dreaming’ Big paper pack- and I mean scraps! I paired with some cardstock and found a layout I liked on pinterest- voila! A layout that I love!

Now you try?

Single Layout Saturday!

For some the prospect of a single page layout can be scary. A bit of the unknown. Tonight (saturday) I want to help you embrace the single page layout and show it some love!

My first single page layout features my Grandma Kay and part of her family (she has not had all of her children at this point). I love the happy looks and comparing the kids in the picture to my Aunts now. To compliment the heritage photo I used the Memo fundamentals and pieces of the Rustic fundamentals. I then added some complements and ribbon with just a hint of colour. I have a bunch of family photos to finish scrapbooking and will continue this look for all of them.

Here is my other single page layout. My owl-dorable daughter in an owl hat my sister gave her. She was being so silly this day. Our Swan Lake paper paired perfectly with out Rustic Fundamentals (the barn board chevron) to create this layout. I added some Swan Lake complements and some of the Blue gems to finish this off.

Now I know when I place these in my album they will not likely match the layout they sit beside BUT sometimes the little moments or the older moments are just not something that can be shared in a two-page spread. Often in these smaller moments though you will find the most precious smile and the most precious memories. Be sure to capture and include those in your albums!

Single Page Saturday: Snowhaven

I love the thought of winter, I love it’s beauty and how pure and clean the world looks after a snowfall…. I HATE just about everything else about it LOL! It looks pretty, but this past winter especially, was super cold and full of LOTS of snow.

We made every attempt this year to enjoy it- on one occasion taking a family sleigh ride at a local farm.  Fun, beautiful and COLD!!  I did capture this pretty picture and it was perfect for a single page layout.

single snow haven layoutI used our new Snowhaven paper and complements for this layout- because of this it came together very quicky.  I added a few of the silver sequins and some of the snowhaven assortments (the little white triangles) and the slate diagonal striped ribbon.
