Lollydoodle Layout

Lollydoodle is certainly one of the most popular paper kits this Idea book- the whimsical and beautiful spring colours work for so many different layouts.  Although the kit seems to have a lot of pinks- many of the flip side of those pieces are more neutral colours and one of the patterned pieces is blue with a green flip side- definitely a kit that can be used for boys and girls!

This Lollydoodle layout was created using the following products:

  • Lollydoodle paper pack
  • Lollydoodle Complements
  • Lollydoodle Assortment
  • Chocolate woodgrain washi tape
  • pink glitter gems

The layout pattern itself was one I found on pinterest (you can follow my pinterest boards if you look at the bar on the right and click on the pinterest link you see there).  The cuts for this layout were all very simple- I did cut the circle on my cricut (all of our cartridges have a circle and square image for simplicity purposes) but you can use whatever tool you have for creating circles.

Ivy Lane Overlay Layout

I love taking some of the artwork I see in the CTMH Idea Book and recreating it to work with my own taste and pictures!  I did that with this layout using our Ivy Lane paper and the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and you can see it all on my video! See below 🙂

Embossing- Sandpaper technique

Yesterday I showed a project using just plain embossing – of course there was nothing plain about the project itself!   Today I want to introduce you to the sanding technique.  Although this technique can be used even if you have not embossed it looks gorgeous when you have!  Emboss your paper as usual and then take some sandpaper or our sanding block and lightly sand over the raised areas- because our card stock has a white core this will reveal that.  It creates such a nice finish and can take plain cardstock and really bring it to life!

Here is a close up of the blue piece of paper that I used with the sanding technique.

Other items used on this page- Balloon Ride paper, grey glitter paper, clear epoxy bubbles.

See you tomorrow!

The Amazing Skylark -Layout featuring Cricut Artbooking

Yes you may have guessed by now that my favourite paper pack is Skylark! I love to use it as it is so versatile and goes with EVERYTHING!   In this layout I use Skylark and the Cricut Artbooking cartridge (as well as a few other items) to share the amazement I feel as I watch my daughter grow and develop- the things she can do are simply amazing!

amazing skylark layout

My layout it fairly simple- it is one of the patterns that is featured in our Make it From Your Heart-Volume 2 book (if you have not picked one of these up I highly recommend it!  It is full of layout patterns with cutting directions AND has card patterns as well!)

I added a few things to my layout – sparkle flourishes, Midtown Cork Shapes, One-Way Borders stamp set and pigment ink to stamp with (gives the colours a bit more ‘pop’).  I also used the Cricut Artbooking cartridge to create my title AND the heart cluster.  I have used this heart cluster a few times- it comes from a larger overlay cut on Artbooking- I cut it in different papers and then hand trim off clusters and lay the layers together. I really like the look!

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 14

Only one day left! WOW! I cannot wait to pick and announce the winner of the hostess rewards for our CTMH Idea Book reveal- you will have till midnight (MST) on the 15th to submit your orders to the party on my SHOP (be sure you ‘join’ the Idea Book reveal party)- the winner will be announced here on the 16th!

Today’s project is a simple one but it focuses on an item that I actually intro ducted in an earlier post as a teaser- our Picture my Life system.  (If you are familiar with Project Life or Pocket scrapbooking then you will be familiar with this style of scrapbooking).

We have come out with 8 different PML kits- each kit features 44 4×6 cards, 78 3×4 cards, a 12×12 designed cover page and 10 memory protectors of various designs.  This allows you to add an album (did I mention we have two new patterns of albums) and you will have a completed book in an afternoon!  This is the answer for those who like the look of a scrapbook but don’t have the time or don’t want the fuss.  You can keep your PML book simple or you can dress it up with some simple accessories like washi tape!

Here are pics I took of 6 of the kits- I have even organized mine in our medium organizer for storage.  This picture shows only the left side of the organizer but all the cards fit very nicely – even with all 8 kits I still have room in the back for another 8 or other pieces (like accessories or pictures) that I might want to take with me when completing one of these albums.

This is such a great system and I cannot wait to get started!

jubilee layout 1

This is Jubilee- bright, playful, sunny and summery (and as I write this and look out my window at yet another foot of snow after a big snowfall I cannot wait to feel sunny and summery!).

This layout is from another workshop on the go kit.  I love how it all came together and how the colours worked perfectly to scrapbook my Canada Day memories from last summer! It also made me wish we had made it out to the fall fair.

What would you scrapbook with this fun paper?

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 11

Welcome to Day 11 of the CTMH Idea Book reveal- today’s page is simple and sweet! I simply love how it all came together.  I based this page on a sketch I saw on Pinterest ( you can follow me on Pinterest by clicking here).  I knew when I saw the layout that I wanted to keep things clean but beautiful.  The paper I used is all from the Skylark paper pack- isn’ that patterned piece with the birds in the top left corner to die for! Would you believe the paper looks like that- I didn’t have to add anything to that top corner!

I did add some simple pieces to finish the page off- some flowers and a bird from the Skylark Assortment and a few of the chipboard pieces from the Skylark complements.

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 10

Day 10 already! The time is passing quickly and the orders are rolling in to the CTMH Idea book reveal party- have you ordered yet?  Remember you can order on my SHOP under the Idea Book reveal party and you will be entered in to the draw to win the HOSTESS REWARDS for the entire party!

Today I am going to show another layout for another workshop on the go kit- this one is Lollydoodle! How adorable is this layout of my daughter and her friends at gymnastics?!  I love the interesting cuts on this layout that make it so much more interesting than a basic layout full of square cuts!  This kit is one that you do need to purchase, or already own, the CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge if you would like to complete it.  You can create the layout with the straight cuts if you like but the intricate ones are so much more fun!

Do you have any of our Cricut cartridges? Tell me below what you own, which cartridge is on your wish list and how you plan to get it.  I may just draw a lucky winner to win a special prize!
