September Stamp of the Month

Have you seen our September Stamp of the Month yet?  Paper Garden is perfect for fall cards and layouts (and can be used in many other ways!).  The stamp set also coordinates with our Cricut Artistry cartridge which allows you to cut your flowers out and stamp faster, simpler and easier!

Here I paired the stamp set with our Nevermore paper- that’s right, the halloween themed paper can be used for more than just halloween! Both cards feature some of the patterned paper and cardstock from the Nevermore paper pack.   Sticking with the purples and greys allows for a pretty card that is not overly feminine (even with the flowers added).

Technique Card Trio

The only thing better than crafting is learning new techniques while you do it! For this ‘Technique Tuesday’ I am going to share a trio of cards using a variety of techniques!

marker technique trio 3

Card #1: Be Happy

This card using embossing as well as the use of alcohol markers. To emboss you will need an embossing machine (any of them that will take a 5×7 folder will do) and one of our amazing embossing folders! If you have not seen all our designs yet then check out this link!

You place your paper in the folder, put it through your embossing machine and voila! For the above card I used the woodgrain embossing folder.

The flowers are coloured in with our alcohol markers- I stamped the outline image in black ink and then coloured.  I love how our makers blend and look so bright and beautiful!

marker technique trio 2

Card #2: Have a Beautiful Day

For this card I did a mix of dry embossing (with the embossing folder like card #1 but this time I used the honeycomb one) AND heat embossing. The feathers in the background and the arrow under the sentiment are both heat embossed.  For this technique I used Versamark ink to stamp my image and then sprinkled embossing powder over the image. (click on embossing powder to see the colours we offer).  I then heat set the powder and it becomes dry and glossy (and so pretty!).  After I just coloured in the areas of the feathers left exposed with alcohol markers.

Card #3: Lovely

This card uses more dry embossing (this time the whole front of the card was embossed in the floral folder) and more marker work. If you look at the ‘Lovely’ sentiment you will see I blended my markers to create an ombre look.  You can achieve this by using a darker version of the colour on the top and slowly colouring to meet the lighter colour on bottom OR you can use any one marker and just add multiple layers of that colour where you want a darker shade. It will blend beautifully because you are using alcohol markers!

Here is a list of things used in the technique trio:

Embossing folders (woodgrain, honeycomb and floral)

Embossing powders (silver)

Heat gun

Versamark ink pad

Shin Han Touch Markers

Happy Birds stamp set

Seaside paper packet

Black journaling Pen (for the lines around the images)

and YES  all of these things are available on my SHOP!

Have a Blast Card- Artfully Sent

artfully sent blast card

Had some time recently to play around with my new CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge for the cricut and I am so happy I did! I also set myself a challenge to NOT use it for the cards I am immediately drawn to- to look beyond them at the other options. Again- so glad I did! I know that I do not make enough boy-themed cards…so this was my intentional attempt at one.

This is a layered pop-up card. I wanted a green glitter spaceship (and one alien) so I had to make some cuts twice with different papers (and I saved the other bits for later projects).  Even with all the layers and different pieces that needed to be cut I was still able to complete this card in only a few minutes! I LOVE this cartridge!

Shine On Sequin Card

shine on sequin card

I have posted cards using this stamp set before- I REALLY, really, REALLY like this set!  This card came together really fast and will be one that I re-create as a Christmas card and maybe even a new year’s eve card! So many possibilities!

I used some of fabulous teal glitter paper of the base- added some white cardstock that I had stamped on and then applied sequins! To mix it up I coloured some of the sequins with a matching marker from our Shinhan marker collection- these colour on sequins with ease!

So Happy … with CTMH! Brae-er Team Blog Hop!

Welcome to the October Blog Hop- this month we are featuring things that share why we are happy to be with CTMH!

Now if you have followed my blog for any amount of time then you already know MANY of the things that delight me about my choice to be a CTMH consultant!

My team is an amazing group of women! When a place a task before these ladies they go for it and give it everything they have! They inspire me and push me to new heights- I know without them I would be nothing!

Close to my Heart- the company, the corporate staff… they are family! and they treat ME like family! There is no better feeling in the world then that of being heard, having a voice and actually seeing your company make changes based on what consultants want- they really do have our best interest at heart!

The product- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the product! It is what brought me to the company in the first place. My deep and profound desire to have it all! Of course that was 10 years ago and with new idea books all the time, I keep feeling like I need to have it all!  Since product was my first love with CTMH, I decided to focus on product for this hop.

This card if my FAVOURITE for the upcoming holiday season- I am not even sending this one out (I am going to keep it for myself because I find it so darling!).  A fairly simple card.  For the scooter I used paper piecing to get the variation in colours (just stamp your image a few different times with different colours of ink- cut out the pieces you want to use and glue them to your base image). My tree I cut and used 3D foam tape to add some dimension.  Stamp a simple sentiment and you are done!

What about CTMH makes YOU happy?

warmest wishes paperpiecing card

This will be a fun afternoon of crafting, card making and Christmas snacks! If you are local to Orillia and would like to attend then please RSVP- cards will be priced from $1.50 to $2.50 depending on the card. Participants will be able to rotate to different stations to make just the cards they like! and as many as they like!

Great Job Card

great job card

I have used this stamp set in other featured posts on here but I just love- so many great uses! This card was very simple- stars stamped in a random patter and the great job pattern stamped and cut out so that I could use foam tape to add some dimension. Finished it with some lines hand drawn with our journaling pen!
