Close to my Heart really is the best! I know many of you know that but I just LOVE it!!
A few weeks ago I got an email from CTMH that said they were looking for photos of consultants at different corporate events, etc. I sent in a few including this one of me and Sean Astin at Detroit Regional Celebrations- he was staying at the same hotel and asked me what all of us ladies where doing. I answered his question and took the time to get a quick pic of me and him!!
He was staying in the same hotel as they filmed a movie in Detroit. I have to say he was really nice!!
So, I sent my pics in and got an email saying that I had won a contest (I did not even realize it was a contest!!) and that I was going to receive a free stamp set of my choice. YAHOO!! who does not love free stuff!!
I received my gift today AND it came with a hand stamped thank you card from Tiffany Young at Close to my Heart!! That rocks- (if you are a consultant with CTMH the corporate staff become pretty special people to you). Below is a picture of my stamp set and card AND I am also including a picture of me, my upline Sarah B and my downline Cheryl P with Jeanette Lynton- Founder of CTMH!!
One of the contests at Leadership was the Gifts under $1.00- not an easy task. No, I did not win but I still think my ideas were great and I may send these in for a monthly contest that CTMH has. These are my wine glass charms!! They are created using some of our arrow photo clips, brads and matching ribbon. Very easy to create and a neat little gift for any hostess who you know that enjoys a cup of wine!!
I did not have 6 different colours of photo clips so I coloured one using Embossing Powder in Black- a great way to make all your accessories to work just like you want!!
If you have been following my blog you know that I got onto the Design Team for Practical Scrappers! Our first challenge was given to us right away- we had to use up eyelets. This was a good challenge for me- I have HUNDREDS as I hate the noise and pounding that it requires to use them!! Well, I got over it and created this page of my husband and son at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls. I used my eyelets to add to the patterned paper to create a fun feel! I have been asked how I got the glossy look (it is on my title, the blue swirl dimensional element and on the edge of my photos)- this is a product called Liquid Glass.
I enjoyed creating this layout- it uses all Close to my Heart products (which are available to purchase on my website at http://braemontgomery.myctmh.com). Product used is Tinkerin’ Paper Pack, Cranberry Cardstock, Grey Wool Cardstock created with the Brayer technique (more to come on that later), Heavenly Blue eyelets, Liquid Glass, Borders Dimensional Elements, and the Headline Alphabet Stamp.
I am also really excited to ALLUDE to something great coming out September 1st that will revolutionize my use of eyelets- watch for upcoming posts around that time OR if you are in my area come out to my Fall Catalogue Launch on September 3rd at 6:58 (please RSVP if you are attending)!!
I know that today is not August 1st so PLEASE do not follow the links below until after that date. I am leaving for Long Beach in the morning and do not want any errors with my blog posts so to be safe I am posting this early!!
We are featuring August’s SOTM, which is It’s Your Day. If you have come here from Lori’s Blog, you are on the right path! If this is your first stop, you may want to go back to Jena’s www.livelovelaughscrapbook.blogspot.com and start from the beginning!
This month we have 64 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month’s SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do – just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!
I have created a two-page layout using our 9×9 simply snapshots paper in Moon Doggie. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the cake and birthday presents on the layout and I cut apart (yes, you read that right- I said CUT) the stamp on the date line so that I could just use the dotted line. I used this line as a stamped frame around my photos. You can cut your stamps- just be very careful in doing it so that you only separate an image- not destroy it. My arrows were created using Moon Doggie paper and chipboard and to finish the layout I added a tag from the Journey Journaling Spots.
If you would like to purchase this stamp of the month please visit my website at http://braemontgomery.myctmh.com OR email me at braemontgomery@myctmh.com.
You know those days when a few things go well and you get really happy and excited- well I am feeling it today!!
With all the good news the past two day and going away tomorrow I would not have thought things could get better- but then my fellow Ontario-an Krista Ritskes gave me a blog award and said such lovely things about my artwork!! Thanks again Krista! Check out her blog at http://kristaritskes-simplycreating.blogspot.com/
Now I am to pass this on to 15 bloggers I have newly discovered!! What a task- I will try to get to this later today but it may have to wait until I return from Leadership in California on Sunday evening!!

I am so excited– I just got an email that I have been chosen for the design team at Practical Scrappers! What an honour!! I already have my first bit of homework and my first challenge- feel free to check it all out at http://practicalscrappers.blogspot.com/
I created this layout last fall after Austin’s first day of school- despite his face in the picture he was really excited to go (he just wanted me to stop taking photos!!). This is still one of my all time favourite layouts. I used the Notebook paper (which is still my favourite of all time) and the Treasure Life stamp set. The page is actually a Level 1 pre-printed page that I added to. I used staples as one of my main accessories as they really give the page a rough and masculine feel. What a great memory!!
I created this one page layout MONTHS ago when we first came out with the Heartfelt Die Cuts (which I absolutely LOVE!!!). I was very pleased with the finished product and put it on display for my summer catalogue launch. Sadly, the ‘l’ disappeared from my layout that night and no amount of looking had it turn up.
The other day when my son was playing with his toys he was very surprised to find my ‘l’ and really pleased when he saw how happy I was to have it back! I ran down to my scrapbook room and pulled out the layout and have now secured it and photographed it so that I may share it with you.
The paper used is from Moon Doggie and I used our clear buttons backed with Moon Doggie paper as an accessory.
