Happy Halloween Party!!

As we get ready to embark on our annual trick-or-treat trek I thought it would be nice to send out wishes to all of you!! Hope you have a fabulous evening that leads to lasting memories!!

Here are a few of ours from this season- my son, Ausin, will be scaring his friends as Raphael from the TMNT’s. He loves that he has already had a chance to wear this costume- to school and to TWO parties!!

One of the parties we attended was last night- below was our host for the evening- the Vampire Royce!!

This I just had to share- Royce’s mother, Sarah, made the most amazing cupcakes for the kids- this was just one of them!! There were mummies, pumpkins and owls- spooktacular fun!!

Snowman Can

At this time of year I spend most of my crafting time getting ready for Holiday craft shows- I LOVE this time of year!! I get to have fun creating- share my art with others and visit other vendors!! One of the projects that I am working on is a Snowman Can!!

Take one empty paint can- I got mine at Home Depot- and decorate to suit your needs- fill with snowman makings!

To create my snowmen to decorate my paint can I used the All Decked Out Stamp set, Watercolour pencils and a blending pen. I coloured and shaded my snowman pieces. Then I cut them pieces out.

After I cut them out I glued the pieces together to get the desired look- are they not super- cute!! Below is a view of the top of my paint can. I just stamped on the cardstock and added some ribbon to the handle to add some extra fun.

And here is a side view of my can- each can has three snowmen. Inside the can there is a hat, mits, scarf, large buttons for the eyes and some coal for the mouth!! Just add a carrot and you are ready to go!!

It’s What’s Inside that Counts

and yet we spend tons of time on the outside of our projects rarely adding anything beyond a sentiment to the inside. Today I challenge you- when making your next project (especially a card) create an extra embellishment for the inside!! In my above card I stamped an extra present and adhered it to the inside of my card to carry the theme through!

Products used: Jingle Paper, Holiday Wishes stamp set, Adhesive backed Pearls, Watercolour pencils and Blending Pen- all product is CTMH.

Back from the land of the Undead!

Now that I have finished all the Sookie Stackhouse novels that are currently available (next one is not out until May) I am free to return to my life!! Of course there are always other great books to get drawn into but since our town library is about to close for a month before building begins on a new building – I think I am safe for a while!
As a celebration of my return I made two cards- one to post today and one tomorrow! Today’s card is a lovely fall card using the Grown with Love stamp set. The pattern is from Originals and the paper is from the Grace paper pack. This was one of the card that I attendees to my home gatherings made in October.

Where oh where is the Brae-er???

I have been MIA for about two weeks now- not because I have been super-busy BUT because I feel into a great book series and could not dig myself out until I was done!!
If you are a fan of vampire stories OR HBO’s True Blood (which I love and it kills me that we do not have HBO to watch the current season) then you HAVE to read the Sookie Stackhouse series of books that the show is based on!!
The show and the books are fun and quirky and are NOT teenage dramas- they are just a great read with a fun, vampire twist!!
Post a comment if you are a fan- I just love knowing that I am not alone!

Fair Fun Layout

Like most towns we have our fair share of events in the summer that bring in a fair. Austin loves them and attended about three this year!! I did not want to scrap them all so I decided to just make a layout that incorporated the theme of our summer fairs.

This layout was created using a pattern out of Imagine (this is the first time I used it and I LOVE how it turned out), Animal Cookies paper, Foam Die-Cut numbers, Felt flowers and Twinkle Brads- all product is Close to my Heart.
I have also included a close up of the flower’s created for this layout- something fun and rough- kind of like my son!! I cut three circles and edge distressed the edges- after attaching them together I also curled the edges in with my finger.
