Tonight was the first evening in a long time that I had enough time, and the creative juices, to allow me to get into my scrapbooking!! I decided to work on mixing some of the photos that I have been working on in Photoshop into my scrapbooking- even though I LOVED playing with these photos it will never make me a digital scrapbooker (the computer is just not fun and relaxing and my hands stay far too clean!!)
I am very pleased with the one page that I have finished tonight and the techniques that I pulled in.
Two of the techniques I used here are listed below with more detailed photos:

Sewing: I know that this is not every one’s ‘cup of tea’ but I promise if you drag out that machine you will enjoy the results. In my layout I created a box around my 12×12 bamboo cardstock with white thread before I added anything else onto my page. I also sewed across my sorbet-ish ric-rac ribbon once I had antiqued it.
Antique-ing: I wanted my ribbon to evoke the feeling of age (something I tried to pull through in a few different elements as this went well with the photo). In order to take my sorbet ribbon and age it I had to dip it into a mixture of brown re-inker and water (just a few drops of re-inker and then I filled the craft jar almost to the top). I dipped it and only let it soak for a few seconds and then pulled it out and left it to dry. Once it was dry I was able to use it on my page.

Here is my finished page:
Until we craft again, The Brae-er
It’s beautiful!
Gorgeous! I really do need to start using my sewing machine.
