October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: Share the Magic

Hello and Welcome!! If you have come from Sylvia’s blog you are on the correct path for the fabulous Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring ‘Share the Magic’

My project features a few different tecnniques- I used the light stamp and curled it on my block (something you cannot do with wood mounted stamps) in order to create a border. I coloured the lights in by hand and then added prisma glitter to make them sparkle!
My Santa’s boots, gloves and belt are heat embossed with black and his belt is heat embossed in silver. To give him a fuzzy look I used fun flock! My paper is from our Mistletoe paper pack and the card base is our new circle card bases and envelopes.
Hope you enjoyed my project- now hop on over to Annette’s Blog!

An Art Night, A Winner and A Technique!!

That is a mouthful of a title but there has been so much going on this month for me that it sums it up!!
First the Art Night– the group of ladies in my downline and in my upline’s downline usually get together regularly for unit meetings but recently we decided to try something different- focusing just on art and through that teaching some business stuff. Our first Art night was just a few days ago and these pictures are of the stuff we showed and created!
The box up top I created as part of my “Fun with Ribbon theme”- even though the most recent episode has just shown how to make ribbon flowers most of the ladies present had not seen the technique yet. Super simple technique that really packs a punch! You don’t even need fancy supplies!! If you want to see how it was done click here to watch Eclectic Elegance.
I also created the ribbon ruffle on the card below using the tips in that episode!
Next I showed how to create your own glimmer mist- I showed this at our stamp camp as well but many of the ladies present for the art night were not at that event and this was one people LOVED!! It is hard to see in the photo but the snowflakes and heart on the following two cards are nice and shiny!! They are easy and look amazing. I also showed that you can use one paper pack from CTMH and really get so much out of it like I did here for a winter card and a valentines card both created with Caboodle paper!

My upline also showed this layout she created- also using a ribbon ruffle and again showing how versatile our paper is! Another big part of hers was the versatility of our stamps and inks. Her layout has a cute stamped border using a star- the colours are smoothie and pear even though three colours show. HOW?? she used second generation stamping in the smoothie to create the light pink colour. Super easy!

That was the Art Night what about the others??
A Winner – I received fab news this week. I had won one of the Make it from Your Heart Contests that CTMH holds for consultants. WHOO HOO!! The box at the very top is similar to what I made using the November Stamp of the Month- I cannot show you the winning project (well I suppose I could but I want to wait until they reveal all the winners and it was supposed to be for the November Stamp of the Month blog hop!)
A Technique– In case you do not know how to make glimmer mist out of your CTMH products here is my recipe that I LOVE!! Take 2 tablespoons of water, a dollop of our pearl paint and 7 drops of a reinker of your choice. Mix in a spray bottle and you are ready to use!! I spray my projects inside a box so that the spray does not get everywhere and they do need time to dry so don’t try creating stuff with this last minute!
enjoy!!

Card Tin Workshop- Sold out in only a few hours!!

A few years ago I found these cute little card tins at a sidewalk sale- they were from the bead store and they had no use for them. I got the whole box for .25 cents!! I knew I would make them beautiful one day!!
Over the years I have done different things with them but this is one of the most popular. I used our new Olivia papers and made a card tin with four cards. I showed the workshop at my catalogue launch and by the end of the evening it was a full workshop!!

The cards feature all new product from the Olivia paper and stickease plus some new accessories (like our yummy Mocha Opaques) and I used embossing on all of them!! That will be the technique that I will be highlighting for this workshop!

Labour Day Made me Happy!!

Well of course it did! For many reasons:
1. Holiday Weekend!
2. Austin goes back to school today and starts Premiere Annee (first grade)!
3. We started the basement renovations for my new SCRAPBOOK STUDIO!!!!
Below are some before pictures of the wall that had to come down to make more room- right now I have a pretty good space (cannot really complain) but I will soon (maybe a month or two) have an amazing space!!

Austin loved the ‘destruction’ he got to take part in!

Here is the same view as above but with the wall down and the mess pretty much cleaned up! My only problem will be figuring out where to store all the stuff that has been stuck in the basement all this time- I will have to purge some and get creative with other stuff!

Peeps Monsters and Hooligans!

When we were in DC this summer we stayed at the Gaylord in National Harbour- it was so nice there! The hotel was certainly 5 stars as was the little town of National Harbour- our favourite spot soon became the Peeps Store!!
Who doesn’t love those little marshmallow animals- YUMMY!!
When we returned home I was scrapbooking and desperately wanted to use our fun new Hooligans paper- but I couldn’t find any photos that had colours that would match. Then I remembered our trip and was excited at the layout beginning to form!

I again used a layout out of MAGIC and this time created a large fold out with cardstock that held some more photos and on the back some journaling. I also used our Hooligans Stickease, Pear mini-medley accents and Hooligans Level 2 Assortment.

Another bit of MAGIC!!

I really LOVE this new book!! It is full of such great stuff- new layouts and fun ways to hide extra photos or journaling. This layout features the Out of the Hat pattern from Magic. I used Mistletoe paper, embossing thread for the stiching, DE stars, and some of our new blue and green sparkles.
This collection perfectly captured out day at Santa’s Village- a place we visit every summer. Austin loves it and always asks how Santa can be there when he lives at the North Pole- we explain that the Village is where Santa spends his summers!

Here is the right side of the layout with the pictures folders opened. This was created using our horizontal page protectors and hinges. Pretty easy and makes everything work as one layout! I think it is important to remember to keep you accents flowing even on the hidden bits so that when opened the layout still works!

Mistletoe is NOT just for Christmas!

Can you not just feel the Western theme that my layout above has- I love how it turned out with the very neutral colour palette and a hint of red to play off my son’s hat and some of the red elements in the photos!
Would you believe that I created this layout using paper, stamps and accessories from our Mistletoe Workshop on the Go!!
I wanted to show my customers (and you) just how much you can get out of our paper- just because at first something may seem one way does not mean that it must be that way! Just be creative!!
This fun layout is also one of the ones out of our new book Magic!
You can now order this great stuff so feel free to visit my online shopping site and place your order today!!

It is a real THRILLER!

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!!
I am really excited to show you the THRILLER stamp set- a really fun and fabulous set perfect for Halloween pages, treats and other fun stuff!

To create my card I used some of our new Pear Cardstock and one piece of the Hooligans paper. I also used a Clear Card (one of the new sizes) and some of our Licorice Opaques.

To get the sparkly black colour to my card I heat embossed my images with a mixture of black embossing powder and prisma glitter- I love how it turned out!

I also did the same on the B&T paper but used clear embossing powder and prisma glitter.

The B&T paper is mounted on a piece of our new Mix and Mingle album that I had leftover after completing another project- what a great way to use of excess stuff!!

I hope you enjoyed your stop!
Now hop on over to Nancy’s Blog and see what treats she has in store for you!!
Also be sure to check back here every day this month as I reveal new projects every day that feature Fall/Winter products!!

Loving the Level 1 Again!

I LOVE a good personal challenge- this summer I entered the CTMH Make it from your Heart Contest a lot!! The deadline for consultants to get their artwork in is tomorrow and I have my fingers crossed that I win in at least one category. We win product credit and there is so much stuff I would love to get with it!
Entering the contest was not really my challenge though- I decided to enter into a few of the different areas- one of them was to enter a Level 1 page from the new papers. I do not usually do my own scrapbooking with Level 1- I feel restricted and stuck- so I took up the challenge and was really pleased with what I acheived!

I used the Hooligan Level 1 kit- and that is all!

We are not allowed to add anything else- in order to make some of my paper stretch I cut out the backs of my Sunset photo mats- this is a great way to save paper OR ensure you have enough Sunset paper for your layout!

I also love how I took a paper that many will only see as ‘Halloween’ and showed that you really can do anything with it! Austin was wearing an orange shirt that made this really easy AND our marshmallow bags (I purchased them at the dollar store) matched perfectly!! I guess it was just meant to be!!
