C’est Magnifique!!

My french skills are limited but I believe I got my title right because this really is a MAGNIFICENT workshop using the Magnifique paper!
The featured layout is the first one pictured below- I love how it worked really well with the blue in Austin’s helmet and the blue water.

The second layout I created using one of my favourite patterns from Cherish. I wanted something that was pretty simple to put together but had some WOW to it- to get the Wow I used liquid glass to highlight the water Austin is splashing in and used it to highlight my title.

One of my favourite features of this title is my little boot- if you use the stamp you will find that your “L” is backwards- BUT using my rubber brayer I was able to reverse my image (stay tuned as my next post will be a tutorial on how to do this!)

And here is the third layout (also from Cherish)- the wow in this layout came from the ribbon scrunching. I also really like this one because I got to use PINK!! It is not very often with just one boy that I get to play with this colour but thanks to our good friends being with us- I had an excuse to work it in! Below are some close up pics of the details.

If you are interested in creating these THREE layouts with me then RSVP to braemontgomery@myctmh.com to order your kit- my workshop is on November 24th from 6:30-9:30.

November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: A Little Thanks

Welcome to the November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring A Little Thanks!! First of all I would like to say a BIG THANKS to you for hopping around with us- we have a very large group of consultants who have worked hard to prepare some lovely stuff for you!!

I have a project below to share with you- you may have seen it before since it was recently picked as a Make it from you Heart Winner with CTMH!! I was so happy- this is my first entry that has won and I am a proud mama!!

To create this project I took a mini-take out box and covered it with two pieces of ribbon- one colonial white and one lagoon. I then used my Cuttlebug to cut a piece of cardstock into a stamp image. Using our great stamp, I stamped the ‘Thanks a Bunch’ image and added three pink sparkes to the flowers. Very simple but I love how it turned out and what a great gift for a friend or hostess!

After I won I decided to do a larger take out box with the same stamp set- and this is what I came up with.

I used the large Thank you image and the small thanks to cover the heart Dimensional Element. I also created a ribbon flower that was demonstrated in the CTMH TV episode called Eclectic Elegance- be sure to go to my website to watch how to create this cute flower!

Now hop on over to Michelle’s Blog to see what she has for you!!

Creativ Festival was AMAZING!!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to be part of a group of consultants who went down to Toronto to take part in the Creativ Festival- it was a lot of hard work and long days but in the end it was AMAZING and I cannot wait to do it again in the spring!!
Here is a pic of me and my bestie, Sarah the first day before the mayhem began- we look excited and very refreshed!

Here is a picture of our booth- small but mighty! We plan to stay small for spring but in the fall watch out… we will have a big, beautiful booth and be teaching some great classes!!

We met so many fabulous ladies, many who had never heard of Close to my Heart and we were so happy to introduce them! I know that these ladies will become friends and customers and we look forward to teaching you all about the wonderful products that CTMH has to offer.
Now if I could just catch up on my rest and unpack the mess in my basement….

Studio J Member’s Only Layouts- AWESOME!!!

Tonight I finally sat down and decided that I was going to complete some layouts in Studio J- I ordered my membership in September when they first came out but had yet to take advantage of it. I am so glad I finally have!!
What are the benefits of membership?
1. Fabulous member only patterns- the four I have completed below are patterns only members can use. Member only patterns have neat features like circles, brackets and other cool designs. Since I love when my layouts stand out from others this really appealed to me.

2. Price- members save 50% off retail. That means my layouts only cost $7.50 when I print them with Close to my Heart.

3. FREE stuff- free shipping for up to 20 layouts every month and free memory protectors for every layout- awesome!!
4. Jpegs- As a member I get them free with every layout purchased OR I can purchase only the Jpegs- but only members can!

5. Exclusive papers- like this one above!! Only members get to use it!
My Studio J membership is completely worth it. I finished four layouts tonight while I watched my favourite TV shows and I love them!!
Want to get your own membership??
Go to http://braemontgomery.myctmh.com and click on the Studio J tab on the left- fill out the membership form and you are automatically set up!! It is that easy!

Sabrina’s Project

The other day I shared my Marnie’s projects from my weekend retreat- today I thought I would share one of Sabrina’s- she is another friend who is incredibly talented and recently she decided to become a CTMH consultant!!
Below is a picture of the banner that she made for her daughters room. If this looks familiar that is because she used the banner on page 86 of the catalogue as her inspiration- after all, the catalogue is called an idea book for a reason!!

Sabrina did an amazing job and used a variety of products: Caboodle paper, pearl opaques, dimensional elements, pretty pins and ribbon.

Gorgeous!!

Flea Market and my Mom’s 51st!

This weekend was my Mom’s 51st birthday- to celebrate my sister, sister-in-law and myself all went to St. Jacob’s (this is in Ontario and is a MUST place to visit- especially in the fall!) We had a great time and I love visiting this location- the sights, sounds and culture are all amazing. This time I remembered to bring my camera so that I can do a great layout when I get the time to scrapbook next.

If you have never been, St Jacob’s is just outside of Waterloo- this is a village that boosts a great farmers market and a very large Mennonite community. These and some wonderful shopping are the main reason why people are drawn there. Enjoy some photos of the area and market- and one of my Mom laughing (we did a lot of that this weekend) and another of the three sisters!

Tag Birthday Invitation!

Recently I have found myself creating a new niche for myself in my scrapbooking life- I have been commissioned by friends and family on numerous occassions now to create invitations for different events.
I have to say I have come to LOVE it!! We design an idea together and from there I make some prototypes- then we make a selection, settle on cost and put as many people to work as we can (this helps with peoples budgets!). I have done this for weddings and many birthday parties.
Here is the latest design for an upcoming birthday party.

For this card I used Twitterpatted Paper, the Party Pennants Stamp Set and the Life’s A Jungle stamp set. This was a very simple card to create but it looks great- my favourite part is the blue border around the Happy Birthday stamp – LOVE IT!!

My Fabulous Friend Marnie!

A few weekends ago I was on my Fall Weekend Retreat – I look forward to this weekend for many reasons- time to scrapbook, hang with friends and pamper myself with a pedicure and massage (you got it our retreat has it all!!)
This time around I was floored by some of the things I saw people creating- here are some of the creations done by my friend Marnie!
The candy box is created using a My Creations Cube, Hooligans paper and a variety of CTMH stamps and accessories.

The next creation is done with a My creations Recipe Box and the Magnifque paper.

You may recognize these as something you have seen before… hmm… wonder why that is?? if you can figure it out post it in the comments box!
