Advisory Board Retreat – another reason I love my job!!

This year I was asked to be the Canadian rep on the Close to my Heart advisory board- this is a huge compliment and I am so happy to serve my company and represent consultants as we discuss the inner workings of the business. Our term began recently with a trip to Sundance in Utah!! Although I can’t tell you much about what we discussed I can share some fun highlights!

Each of us took the corporate team a gift to represent where we are from- what is more Canadian than maple syrup?!
One of our first questions was ‘where is waffle love?’ This is a favourite of ctmh corporate staff and we have been teased with photos many times- now I can say that the hype is real…the  waffles were amazing!!

A gift on our bed everyday 🙂 This one included pyjamas which are a traditional gift – and they are so comfy!
So much food- we had many amazing meals and lots of yummy snacks all the time!

Monica ( VP of events) made her Pico – very fresh which made it very yummy! Seriously we ate a lot!!

My favourite gift was this necklace

And here is the view from our cabin- a gorgeous place!!!

Polar Pals Card Kit

Yes I do realize Christmas is month’s away.
I do apologize for interrupting your summer with thoughts of winter and snow and ice and scrapping off your car…. oh my!

BUT it is really only a few months away and some of us need to take a while to get ready if they are going to have any chance for success. So, my STEP 1- get cards ready! I already have created 15 handmade cards and these 12 shaker cards. Total success!

These cards can be used for a few different things- you can place a gift card in the holder (the dark blue part of the card seen above) OR you can place a family picture. I LOVE this card holder! Such a fun way to present a gift card especially!

Here is what the front of the cards look like- you get three of each of the four designs, so pretty! They are also really easy to put together- you don’t need anything!

Of course you can have fun with how to put it together- the kit comes with adhesive springs that you can use to make your little polar pal spring up OR you gift card holder.  FUN!

If you own a business or give out lots of gift cards for the holiday season then this set is a MUST!

Purchase this sweet card kit here!

‘Crush’ing on Convention

Well I am one of the lucky few who managed to get this great product before they went on back order!!
Today we had a busy day of traveling to the city of Toronto and LOTS of waiting while there for doctor’s and other support people.  During that time I wanted to challenge myself to create with my Crush book.  This is what I completed throughout the day (and a bit once I got home since I was having SO much fun!!)

I decided to document my trip to convention recently- it was quite a trip and I think it deserved it’s own book!

In setting this up I wanted to remember a few things about using a Crush book:
1. Have fun- don’t overthink things!
2. Remember when you used to scrapbook years ago? When you put whatever fit onto your pages to help tell your story? GO THERE and DO THAT!
3.Lastly- there are no rules…just tell your story!

So I am not done the book yet- still have LOTS of pages to fill (but I am tearing some out as I find I don’t need them all and I know that I can find something fun to do with the extra pages – I already used two of them somewhere in my book,,,can you spot them?)
Here is what I have used so far:
My Crush Modville Book
Grey Washi Tape
Love This stamp set
Reel Life stamp set
My Crush Best Day Ever assortment

ALL of this will be available to order on my website August 1st (and yes the Crush books are back-ordered but they are on the way and the wait WILL be worth it!)

July Stamp of the month blog hop!!

Welcome to the July stamp of the month blog hop! This month we are sharing with you artwork we created using the ‘Sweet Life’ stamp – when you order $50 or more from me during the month of July you will be able to get this cute set for only $5!  Or you can purchase it for $17.95.
I created this card using some white daisy cardstock, pigment inks and our CTMH markers.  I cut, coloured and placed each of the leaves, flower buds and fruit – a simple card but one that holds beauty!

Brae-er Team Summer fun hop!!

Welcome to our June Summer fun blog hop!  We are glad you are here and are VERY happy to bring you some summer inspiration.  So many of our fun scrapbooking memories are made while the temperature is high and the sun is shining- we hope these projects give you ideas for how to display those special moments- big and little!
My one page layout is actually one inspired by the art department at Close to my Heart- I loved the fun paper ‘rays’ that come out from the centre (where my photo will eventually be placed!).  I also liked that I was able to mix together different paper kits- For Always and Tommy are used for this page.  I also added in some fun cricut Artiste shapes (the arrow, bow and negative image title) and finished it off with sparkes and some washi tape.  Around the edge of my page is a stamp image of stitching (these stamps are the BEST when you want the look but not the work!).

Like what you see? order it on my website (and while there be sure to check out the while supplies last section- many items will soon be leaving us as we prepare to make way for a new Idea Book August 1st).
