Now for today’s reveal.

jubilee layout 1

This is Jubilee- bright, playful, sunny and summery (and as I write this and look out my window at yet another foot of snow after a big snowfall I cannot wait to feel sunny and summery!).

This layout is from another workshop on the go kit.  I love how it all came together and how the colours worked perfectly to scrapbook my Canada Day memories from last summer! It also made me wish we had made it out to the fall fair.

What would you scrapbook with this fun paper?

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of the CTMH Idea Book reveal! Today I want to share with you a layout inspired by page 21 of the new Idea Book (if you have one you can look it up and see what I am talking about- and remember you can also view the idea book online).

As soon as I saw that single page in the Idea book I knew I had to recreate it- with my own twist of course! This layout does not feature any of the stamping that the other one does- I instead used the Skylark complements to fill in the places that would have featured some stamping.  I love to stamp but I also know that not everyone feels the same way- this shows the versatility of our product line!skylark stamp camp layout

The other thing that I added to this layout (beyond a second page) is a piece of the Skylark Picture my Life kit.  You can see it in the close up photo below- I used one of the cards and created a nice little spot to feature my journaling!

Since I wrote this post a week ago I have created a video to go along with this layout- a great step by step so you can create your own!  Check it out!

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 4

So glad to see you on Day 4 of our CTMH Idea book reveal!! I promised you yesterday that I would share a card created with the prize for yesterday’s challenge (which if you have not done or entered into yet be sure to do so- you have until tonight!)

hip hip hooray card

I love how this card turned out! I stamped the balloons on several pieces of cardstock using the same colour of ink (this is called tone on tone stamping).  I then cut them all out by hand and placed them on my card with some 3D foam tape to give them life (some are glued flat to the card as well).  My balloon lines are hand drawn and I added some of the adhesive sequins from the Lollydoodle card workshop (they were leftovers and so fun!) My sentiment is cut out and stamped using the Cricut Artiste cartridge collection.

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 2

Welcome back! Day 2 of the CTMH Idea book reveal features a cute card with a oh-so-popular hot air balloon!  I am seeing these EVERYWHERE in fashion, home decor and of course papercrafts!

My card is a basic 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 card on lagoon card stock.  I used the CTMH Artiste cartridge to cut out my clouds.  The hot air balloon was hand cut (it turned out so well I didn’t mind at all) and paper pieced together.  I used some of our glitter paper to add some bling to the balloon and then also added a bit to the bottom of the card under the sentiment.

Sketch Challenge- Scrapbook and Cards Today

We have been having some CRAZY winter weather around here- the last three days buses have been cancelled which means my kids have not gone back to school from Christmas holidays- of course they are delighted! Me, not so much! Usually for our house these days are business as usual but since one of those snow days lead to schools being closed I received a much welcomed day off too!   I managed to finish up this layout I had started the night before for the sketch that Scrapbook and Cards Magazine has released.  I LOVE the finished look.

Would you believe I used NO PATTERN paper for this layout at all!  Everything is card stock based and the inspiration for my colour selection came from the pink polka dot Washi tape I wanted to use and the teal shimmer trip I just HAD to use- it is too yummy to resist!  I looked on my pinterest colour inspiration board and found some colours that coordinated and pulled together cardstock- lagoon, Kraft, buttercup and cotton candy.  Wait I was wrong- there is one small piece of pattern paper- anyone care to guess what CTMH paper pack it is from??

The pattern paper I created was made using cotton candy card stock and the pink washi tape- I just overlapped the tape so that the polka dot’s matched up to create the look of pattern paper. I love how it turned out! I also used my cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the shapes on my page- the large circle, medium scallops and small circles and scallops that make up my pennant.  I finished it off with a variety of accessories that I had built up over the last two idea books- all from Close to my Heart.

I can’t tell you the stamp set yet- you will have to wait for the Idea book reveal of my blog which begins February 1st! I will be sharing 15 days of new products and artwork to launch the new book!
