Cross Canada Blog Hop- Base and Bling

Welcome to our Cross Canada Blog Hop!
This month we are featuring our Base and Bling line which is craftable jewellery and it is AWESOME!  If you have come from  Sheri’s blog then you are on the path!

If, like me, you have a young girl in the house you can make the cutest things- hair clips, headbands, rings, necklaces and cuffs!  If you have pre-teens or teens they will LOVE that they can easily make their own fun stuff!

Purchase the bases and then add on some of textiles and fun accessories and you can create just the look you like!
Want to know how to get started? Want to learn how to sew a cute and easy flower- watch my video below.

Here are some pictures of a few of the pieces you see in the video and here is a link to my past blog post that showed you how to make the flower featured on the hair clip.

Before you go though – leave some love and please PIN the work you love!
Also enter my pin to win contest- it closes at the end of the day today!

Now hop on over to Cheryl’s blog for more Base and Bling inspiration!

Halloween Home Decor with CTMH

Despite a very busy Thanksgiving weekend, I have managed to sneak in some crafting time!  Both of these projects have been on my mental ‘to do’ list for quite some time and I am so pleased they are complete!

My subway poster sign was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest- the best part is it cost me about $10 to make my own! All of the paper was from the Spellbound paper that was on my website a few days ago- it was about $2.75 in the while supplies last section (it is not there now but there is lots of other great goodies- check it out here!)

The piece of wood I bought at home depot- it was a much longer piece that I had the staff cut for me into three equal pieces (2 more projects can be created later on now!).  The images on my sign were all cut from the Cricut Art philosophy and the Cricut Artbooking cartridges -both can be purchased here.
My ‘BOO” decoration are just pieces of 2×4 I had in the house already- my sister cut them down (she wanted to create her own set) and her fee was leaving me three pieces.  I painted them orange after giving them a quick sand.  For my stems I stacked different green buttons- used glue dots to stick them together and liquid glass to stick them on my pumkins.  The BOO is a title off the Cricut Artbooking that I just cut apart- I cut this out on some of our black glitter paper.  The letters were also stuck on with liquid glass (for both projects).

I LOVE how our product can be used for such cute home decor items!

Finding that perfect paper!

I am sure that every one of you can appreciate how difficult it is to sometimes find the right paper to compliment your photos- sometimes I have photos that sit for years (as was the case here) until I find just the right one- what a happy day I had this weekend when I discovered these photos in my pile and realized Laughing Lola was the perfect paper!! Funky, a little bit crazy and very ‘Wonderland’!
I used the Make it from Your Heart Volume 2 for my pattern for this layout. I complimented the paper with aqua dots, glitter gems, flowers from our teal base and bling accessories and cut outs from the Cricut Artbooking as well as a stamped image or two! I also mixed it up for my title to further carry out the funky, fun feel of my layout.

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

To celebrate I made this neat card which was inspired by something I saw on pinterest.
I used the stamp from the Laughing Lola Card Workshop on the go for my splotches.  To get the red lines I inked up the side of my ruler and stamped it (such a fun idea!)
My circle and arrow are off the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and the ‘love it’ stamp is off one of the stamps in the bundle.  Last I added some shimmer trim, washi tape and an aqua dot!

Background Stamps- video tutorial and card creation

A new video from CTMH and this one features our background stamps- I LOVE these as they are so versatile.  I didn’t know the video was coming out but used the very stamp they feature in a card I recently created.
What do you think?

This card features lagoon cardstock that I stamped on with the background stamp in lagoon ink.  I then used the Cricut artbooking cartridge to cut out the polaroid shape for my shaker box AND to cut out LOTS of little hearts to be the bits in my shaker box.  I used some acetate and our 3D foam tape to create the shaker box and decorated the front with a cork embellishment, some shimmer tape and another heart! I love how it turned out 🙂

October Team Blog Hop- Thankful for so MUCH!!

Welcome to my team blog hop! This month we are featuring things that fit a theme:
“Give thanks”

I hope you enjoy the artwork that each of us has created.  Follow the links below to go through the hop (a full list is posted at the bottom if you get off track).

I created this cute canvas journal to give as a gift- the recipient can use it to write about all the things she is thankful for in life!
To create the front image for the journal I used one of our overlay images from our Cricut Artbooking cartridge and the Huntington paper.  I accented this with our Rosewood mini medley and a phrase from one of the stamps that comes with the Cricut Artbooking (stamped in pigment ink).

Did you know this cute journal is only $2.25!! I have to admit I bought a bunch- they will make great gifts for the holidays once decorated! Check out all the clearance items on my website here!
Now hop on over to Tamara’s blog!

Advisory Board Retreat – another reason I love my job!!

This year I was asked to be the Canadian rep on the Close to my Heart advisory board- this is a huge compliment and I am so happy to serve my company and represent consultants as we discuss the inner workings of the business. Our term began recently with a trip to Sundance in Utah!! Although I can’t tell you much about what we discussed I can share some fun highlights!

Each of us took the corporate team a gift to represent where we are from- what is more Canadian than maple syrup?!
One of our first questions was ‘where is waffle love?’ This is a favourite of ctmh corporate staff and we have been teased with photos many times- now I can say that the hype is real…the  waffles were amazing!!

A gift on our bed everyday 🙂 This one included pyjamas which are a traditional gift – and they are so comfy!
So much food- we had many amazing meals and lots of yummy snacks all the time!

Monica ( VP of events) made her Pico – very fresh which made it very yummy! Seriously we ate a lot!!

My favourite gift was this necklace

And here is the view from our cabin- a gorgeous place!!!
