This post doesn’t feature much new stuff- the glitter paper, thistle cardstock and a little bit of seaside paper are all that is current- but it does feature the sweetest little girl and her love for Minnie Mouse! The paper was a past special- Dotty for you. The dots were perfect for a layout all about Minnie. I used the one non-CTMH cartridge I own (I think it is called Mickey and friends) and made Minnie Mouse heads with cute glitter bows!
I mixed it all up to tell the story of my sweet girl and her love of Minnie- I cannot count how many times she has gone to school all dressed up like Minnie Mouse. I love it (even if I seem slightly embarrassed at the time). I love how she has no idea that most people don’t wear costumes out- she wears it with pride and a big smile!
This year she will also get to meet Minnie Mouse thanks to Close to my Heart- I cannot wait for this moment! I know it will be very special and one that she carries with her for a long time!
I have posted cards using this stamp set before- I REALLY, really, REALLY like this set! This card came together really fast and will be one that I re-create as a Christmas card and maybe even a new year’s eve card! So many possibilities!
I used some of fabulous teal glitter paper of the base- added some white cardstock that I had stamped on and then applied sequins! To mix it up I coloured some of the sequins with a matching marker from our Shinhan marker collection- these colour on sequins with ease!
Welcome to our Trick or Treat Blog Hop across Canada!! If you have come from Joanne’s blog them you are on the path of lots of Halloween fun!
For my treat I created a simple one page layout- the spin on this (or trick you could say) is that I created this using our new Artfully Sent cartridge (which is a card based cartridge… think outside the box and you can use it on your layouts too!). I cut the Haunted house and fence on the ‘fit to page’ setting on my machine. I backed my house with yellow paper to make the windows shine. I then added some stickers from the Scaredy Cat Complements and used foam tape to pop them up. This came together very quickly!
Now hop on over to Carol’s blog to see if she has tricks or treats for you!
I was honoured to be asked to be a Guest Designer for a Sketch on the Atlantic Hearts Blog. I received the above sketch and immediately knew I wanted to adapt this sketch to use with the new Artfully Sent cartridge from CTMH!
Here is what I came up with:
For this card I used one of the swing card cuts on the Artfully Sent- a birthday one. I added some Confetti Wishes paper and accented the cuts with paper, markers and shimmer trim (always need to add shimmer trim!)
The inside also got a bit of fun- I cut out the Happy Birthday from another piece of paper in the Confetti Wishes set.
I would love to see what you create with this sketch. Feel free to post your finished projects in my comments!
Welcome to the October Blog Hop- this month we are featuring things that share why we are happy to be with CTMH!
Now if you have followed my blog for any amount of time then you already know MANY of the things that delight me about my choice to be a CTMH consultant!
My team is an amazing group of women! When a place a task before these ladies they go for it and give it everything they have! They inspire me and push me to new heights- I know without them I would be nothing!
Close to my Heart- the company, the corporate staff… they are family! and they treat ME like family! There is no better feeling in the world then that of being heard, having a voice and actually seeing your company make changes based on what consultants want- they really do have our best interest at heart!
The product- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the product! It is what brought me to the company in the first place. My deep and profound desire to have it all! Of course that was 10 years ago and with new idea books all the time, I keep feeling like I need to have it all! Since product was my first love with CTMH, I decided to focus on product for this hop.
This card if my FAVOURITE for the upcoming holiday season- I am not even sending this one out (I am going to keep it for myself because I find it so darling!). A fairly simple card. For the scooter I used paper piecing to get the variation in colours (just stamp your image a few different times with different colours of ink- cut out the pieces you want to use and glue them to your base image). My tree I cut and used 3D foam tape to add some dimension. Stamp a simple sentiment and you are done!
What about CTMH makes YOU happy?
Now hop on over to Tamara’s blog to see what makes her Happy!
If you get lost on the hop you can come back here to find your way!
I am DELIGHTED to share that we are on the move… after a year and a half of trying to sell our cute little house we have finally been successful and were able to land the house of our dreams (pictured below!). We wanted this house for as long as ours has been for sale and thought many times that we were going to lose it but in the end everything worked out!
I am excited for the move (especially since we only have a month to get it all done and with two busy kids that is not going to be easy!).
I am also excited for new memories to be made, my new craft room (a dedicated room with a door!) and space to host workshops and team meetings once again!
I love the holiday season.. the build up to fall and thanksgiving and halloween and the BIG finish (for me anyway) of Christmas. I love the family time it brings, the special activities and opportunities to make new memories and continue traditions!
I also love the opportunity to create Christmas cards! Like this simple card here! This will be one of the many cards featured at my card making afternoon on November 22nd. This will be a fun afternoon of crafting, card making and Christmas snacks! If you are local to Orillia and would like to attend then please RSVP- cards will be priced from $1.50 to $2.50 depending on the card. Participants will be able to rotate to different stations to make just the cards they like! and as many as they like!
I have used this stamp set in other featured posts on here but I just love- so many great uses! This card was very simple- stars stamped in a random patter and the great job pattern stamped and cut out so that I could use foam tape to add some dimension. Finished it with some lines hand drawn with our journaling pen!
This September my little miss turned 3 and since she LOVES her Minnie Mouse we decided to use that as our theme. I LOVE doing up a party so here are some highlights from the big bash!
I like to try to use as much Close to my Heart product as I can do I have elements of them throughout.
Banner: Target has these great polka dot banners in their party section. I just added my cardstock letters and bows and done! I used the Mickey Cricut Cartridge (I have had this one for years) and CTMH cardstock and glitter paper.
Favour bags: CTMH now has these great Designer Creation bags in Ruby- the PERFECT touch! I added some mouse ears and a bow! Each child received the necklace they beaded and one of the yummy cookies my sister-in-law baked.
A fun game of pin the bow on Minnie?!
Great part about these bows is that I added a stick and the doubled as our photo booth props! I used CTMH glitter paper and cardstock to make these.
